There are frequent references to Al on this site, and in my books.
“Al” (short for Alexandra/Alexander) is my avatar. The busy middle-aged professional whose life is slowly-but-surely passing them by.
They can literally see it happening, but their confusion, indecision and inaction – leaves them frustrated and powerless to change anything.
Reluctantly they resign themselves to being stuck in the situation as it becomes their “norm” – even as they squander many benefits in the process.
I know. I used to walk in the same shoes, not knowing where to start or who to ask.A
I generally find in my work that Al actually wants (mostly secretly) to be fit and healthy – but can’t prioritize things to reach that goal.
Ultimately, things dictate in such a way that the promise of a healthy lifestyle – remains elusive. So the predicament becomes accepted.
I’ve spent decades trying to deconstruct Al’s mindset to see which factors cause or enable this reluctant consent. After all, it’s not like we have no choice in becoming out-of-shape and unhealthy. We actually do!
As I describe on the about page, my curiosity to understand the obstacles and my wish to help – keep me passionate and committed. I very much want Al to get in touch with reality and the drawbacks of being unhealthy. At the same time, I want them to be empowered to take action with simple yet effective steps that deliver results.
The Sensible Fitness Program (SFP) goes to the heart of simplifying fitness, removing unnecessary obstacles and opening the door to a formidable physical transformation. SFP is specifically intended for people like Al to once and for all address their seemingly hopeless plight – and in the process get them on the road to a healthier and happier future.
Although this is an informational page, if you’re reading it and feel that Al’s situation resonates with you, why not consider changing your life today?
