What I’m Doing Now
My current fitness journey, lifestyle enhancements, and personal development goals.
(Updated November 19, 2024.)
Working on a specialized/advanced program
I decided to go a level beyond my flagship Sensible Fitness Program (SFP).
Same program benefits as before: Enjoyable nutritious eating plan, engaged and socially connected lifetyle, BUT, with enhanced muscle-gain potential.
After decades of maintaining a healthy constitution and very good physical shape, I realized I could go further. I became inspired to begin training differently toward gaining lean mass, and it worked! And so a new specialized/more advanced routine was born.
It’ll be for those busy middle-aged pros who, like me, have had success with SFP, but want to continue evolving closer to their full genetic potential.
In August 2023, my eldest daughter remarked, “Dad, you're in great shape, but you're leaving money on the table,” pointing to my arms and shoulders. Her words lingered, inspiring me to push my limits. I thought about it for a bit. It lingered on my mind until I decided to recognize it as a calling to evolve further.
Why not? After all, I am someone who often thinks about self-actualization.
It took just 4 weeks to start noticing a difference, both physically (denser upper body) and on the bathroom scale: My weight was increasing while my body fat percentage remained constant.
I am currently putting the finishing touches to the “Advanced Sensible Fitness Program (ASFP),” which will become available on the site in early 2025.
Building the MyFitnessRoad website and Community
Since launching MFR in 2007, I’ve explored various hosting platforms but never quite felt fully comfortable with the available options.
I’ve tried different platforms, changed providers, built, moved and canceled various subscriptions and plans. In the end, I realized that there was a lot of refining and setting up, and not enough creating. I suppose part of the issue is my perfectionism in wanting the best look and feel. In the end, I’ve come to realise that it’s much more about just sharing content, expertise, than how it’s packaged.
This current site I think promises to be pretty decent with its look-and-feel and functionality.
So it’s now all about getting the essential pages completed and becoming regular about putting out material to better connect and grow the community. It includes more deliberate blogging.
I also recently went through all my photography equipment. Part of my procrastination has meant that I haven’t captured or recorded nearly enough fitness-related material in the last year. That’s about to change. Drone footage may be a part of this. Not yet sure, though.
So, alongside my other profession (HR), developing the site and growing the community are ares that are getting a lot of my attention at the moment.
The next 3 months are going to be busy!
On the Personal Development Side
For me, it’s not just about physical fitness and well-being, I still want to grow as a person.

Wanting to make a difference in the world
As covered in my book, “The Sensible Fitness Program: A Simple and Sustainable Solution,” more than simply chasing a fitness state, MFR is a movement.
A movement rooted in meaning, connection, and paying it forward. It’s about becoming the best version of yourself not just for personal gain, but to inspire and uplift others. When you help others achieve their goals, you create a ripple effect of positivity, accountability, and trust that transforms lives.
By building a community of encouragement and generosity, MFR wants to go beyond physical transformation and foster a culture of shared growth and purpose. To contribute to benefiting the current state of the world in terms of the environment, human and animal rights, peace, and social justice.
I feel that when we take care of ourselves and support others, we build the strength—both physical and moral—to address inequality, create opportunities, and inspire fairness in our communities. Together, we can transform not only our bodies but also the world around us.
I continue to strive to live by these principles, as they remain deeply relevant to how I pursue (and balance) life and business every day.
